7.1 Checking/Replacing the Mg-Stick (Anode)(Frequency: Every Half Year - Replace if required)The Mg-stick (anode) protects the inner tank of water tank. WhentheMg-stickbecome degraded the level of protection is diminished. It is recommendedthatMg-stick is periodically checked for its level of degradation and getsreplacedifrequired. Most water heating industry professionals recommend inspectingtheMg-stickyearly. The coating of water tank is designed for normal quality water. Whenusingmore corrosive water, the Mg-stick is checked more frequently. Whenindoubtconsult a local water heating professional. To check the protective anode:(1) Cut off the power supply.(2) Close the cold water inlet valve & open a hot water tap.(3) Open the drainage pipe valve, and wait for discharging the water.(4) Remove the power wire if required.(5) Remove the top cover and external cover if required.(6) Unscrew the fixed nuts and joints of the main unit assembly, andremovethemain unit assembly if required.Air Source Heat Pump Water Heater25(7) Remove the Mg-stick cover, and unscrew the Mg-stick, and extract it directly.(8) Check the Mg-stick, if Mg-stick is in an unsuitable condition, replacewithanew one.(9) Restitute the unit and debug
